Esoteric Traditions of Astrology

Most esoteric traditions and mystic ones have connections to astrology. Typically, these traditions of astrology that are esoteric by nature practice the basic occult science relating to the future.

At present, typical Esoteric traditions include, however are not actually restricted to the following:

Alchemy is a system of astrology that is founded on the idea that the seven planets in the solar system held dominion over and actually rule metals. The Sun rules Gold, the Moon rules Silver, Mercury rules Quicksilver or Mercury, Venus rules Copper, Mars rules Iron, Jupiter rules Tin, and Saturn rules Lead.

Chiromancy is basically a system that relates to astrology because of its fortune telling practices. Through the study of palm, it can actually foretell one’s future. At times, it is also called and referred to as palmistry, palm-reading, chirology or hand analysis.

Kabbalistic astrology is a system that is based on the Hebrew Kabbalah. Generally, this system is capable of knowing a person’s personality, traits, etc. through the birth chart and with the aid of the Kabbalistic lens.

Medical astrology or also traditionally called as Iatromathematics is a system that links the different parts of the body, diseases and drugs to the planets and the twelve astrological signs.

Numerology, on the other hand, has always been associated with astrology. Numerology with astrology depicts the relationship of the numbers 0 to 9 with some celestial bodies in the solar system. So far, there are some conflicting ideas which are opposite with the one aforementioned; like for an instance, that of the the kabbalistic system.

Rosicrucianism or “Rose Cross” is actually an order or system rooted in the Western mystery tradition. Basically, there are three manifestos that are always linked to the development of this order: Fama Fraternitatis Rosae Crucis, Confessio Fraternitatis, and Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz.

Finally, the Tarot reading, is a popular system that uses cards called Tarot cards for some divination stuff and to eventually foretell the future. Tarot reading, for many years, has been a part of many cultures and also of some other traditions. At present, principles of this system remain intact, however, with just some alterations because of the influence of some cultures, traditions, etc.
