Qutb al-Din al Shirazi on the other hand, is also a popular Iranian astrologer and astronomer who made contributions on the Almagest which is the popular Arabic translation of the work of Ptolemy. In terms of science, he is the first one to give sound and reasonable scientific explanation for the rainbow formation.
The last but definitely not the least, Ulugh Beyg, a notable Iranian mathematician is also a great Iranian astronomer. Creating the first original star map since Ptolemy, that corrected the position of stars even the new ones, and building an observatory, he is actually a great one kind of astronomer.
Later Developments
Long before, astrology is typically associated with the sciences of astronomy, mathematics and even medicine. However, during the later years, it was then separated and was just considered as plain fortune-telling and superstition therefore losing its sound grounds and appeal to believers of astrology.
