Planets in Astrology
In astrology, planets do play a major role. Particularly in ancient times, each moving planet was noted to have a relationship with a certain zodiac sign. These relationships are actually neat and straightforward and typically mainly contribute to some astrological assumptions and determinations.
Similarly, for some astrologers, particularly those ancient ones, planets can represent the will of the gods and can directly influence upon human affairs through astrological readings. For some modern astrologers, planets represent basic impulses or drives in the human psyche, spirit or soul.
Astrological Planets
Astrological planets do actually have a long history. In fact, there is what you call the classical planets and the modern planets.
The classical planets, the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are the ancient planets known before the advent of the telescope and that can easily be seen with the naked eye.
On the other hand, the modern planets, the Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, are the additional planets in the list of the astrological planets. Typically, their effects in people depend upon how strongly they feature in a particular person’s birth-chart.
Ceres, the dwarf planet,, was also scientifically recognized as a modern planet in some point in time. But for years now, the status of Ceres is unknown in astrology mainly because of its new recognition as a dwarf planet.
However, some of the astrological records tell that Ceres has been suggested once as the ruler of Virgo, the virgin sign.
